Morris Garages, a British automotive brand, commonly known by the marque ‘MG Car Company Lmt.’ or MG is making its way to India for the first time. The brand is celebrated worldwide for their sedans and coupés. As a fully owned part of China’s SAIC motors, MG Motor India is making its long-awaited debut with the brand new SUV MG Hector. Will MG Hector make an impactful mark on the stable? With a lot of competition in line, it can go either ways! Let’s dive into MG Hector specifications to know!
1MG HECTOR DESIGN AND LOOK
With oodles of cars on the road, SUVs have managed to charm us every single time. Moreover, hatchbacks styled as SUVs are in the trend all the more. That said, MG Hector has commanded attention as no other and has become an instant favorite. Sporting dimensions larger than the others in class, MG Hector has got us in its corner with its sheer size.
The large rear view mirrors are integrated with signal turn lights in a ‘floating’ pattern. The quad projector headlight set up, taillights on the rear and fog lamps light up with white LED lighting. The car could not hide its quick resemblance with Audi Q5. It comes with 10-spoke alloy wheels that unfortunately go rather abruptly with the wheel wells and body size of the car. Nonetheless, the SUV seems to be handsome in its own operation.
2MG HECTOR : INTERIORS
Moving on to the interiors of MG Hector. Boarding in and out does not seem to be a task. Once inside, you’ll immediately fall for the comfortable seating. The rear seats can accommodate three people effortlessly. Ample leg room, comfortable cushioning and reclining seats (even the rear seats!) adds to the overall comfort. The front half on the cabin is equipped with luxurious interiors. The leatherette on the dashboard, instrument cluster and on elbow rests gives the cabbin a premium look. Though the interiors do not seem to be best in class, yet they are not outright disappointing.
MG Hector does not lack behind in terms of safety too. It comes integrated with 2 to 6 airbags ( depending upon the model), child seat mounts, ABS with EBD, rear disc brakes electronic stability program and traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system and heated wing mirrors. In terms of tech, MG Hector offers you latest and top notch features including, but not limited to, front and rear parking sensors, a 360° camera, a 7-inch digital driver’s display dominating the dash, a powered tailgate, as well as ambient lighting. To top it all, MG Hector also gives you a large sunroof.
3MG HECTOR : THE INTERNET SMART AUTOMOBILE
MG Hector is reportedly brand’s first internet smart automobile. The command center is a 10.4 inch FHD display. The display is vertically placed and works for information and entertainment purposes. The system center is preloaded with the content and allows you easy management of automobile’s settings and functions. This new connectivity system abbreviated as i-Smart next generation system is advanced technology that provides users with smart applications, built in apps, smart features, AI, Voice assist and much more. It combines and connects all the fronts including Software, hardware, services, functions and applications. The users can enjoy Real-Time Navigation, Remote Location, Geo-Fencing, Emergency Response and to top it, the system is 5G ready and comes with a machine to machine embedded sim.
With a simple ‘Hello MG’, you can access the command center. The voice recognition is also specially curated to understand Indian accent. Another feature that MG Hector comes with is the eCall emergency that sends SOS messages to MG customer management center and your emergency contacts in case of an accident. With the I-Smart Next Generation in association with I-Smart mobile app, you can practically control every feature of your vehicle.
