Kia Motors India has marked a tremendous jump in its growth, has become the fifth largest vehicle manufacturer in the country. The car maker has sold 26,840 units of Kia Seltos in the country since the SUV was launched in market in August.

Three months after Kia Motors India began selling its first product, the Seltos SUV, the company has noticed its best monthly sales breaking the monthly sales record of Hyundai Creta. The car sold 12,850 units and crossed the 25,000-unit in its total sales milestone in the domestic market. Kia Seltos has reportedly sold 2,184 Seltos SUVs around Diwali, mostly on Dhanteras (October 25), which is popular in India for purchase of a new vehicle, among other consumer buys.

The South Korean company has marked wholesales of 12,859 units, higher than peers like Ford, Volkswagen, Nissan and Renault during the festive season of Diwali.

Kia Seltos has outsold the sales of Hyundai Creta in each of the last three months since its launch in August this year. Hyundai Creta couldn’t make it to the top 10 bestselling cars’ list in October. To our reports, despite the steep loss in the auto sector, Kia’s heavily competitive price and remarkable features drove it to the 5th spot in the list of top-selling car in India. To talk about others, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,39,121 units; Hyundai 50,010 units; Mahindra & Mahindra 18,460 units; and Tata Motors 13,169 units in October.

To meet ongoing and raging demand for the car, Kia has stated that they will ensure the timely delivery and seamless service. Kia Motor India has started the second shift to ramp up the production at its production facility in Anantapur. The company also stated in a press release that “it will not close the bookings as the brand’s plant is fully capable of meeting the rising demand for the Seltos.”

Both Kia India Motor and Hyundai will soon add new cars to their flags. Kia Motors will bring in the Carnival and later the QYI compact SUV while Hyundai is coming with ix25. With the positive customer response, we are sure the two carmakers will stay on in India for quite a few years to come.
