Instagram’s New Update bring Dark Mode

So, if you’re not a very huge fan of Instagram’s bursting colour palette and bright white borders, this update is for you to take advantage of dark mode for Instagram. The latest version for the app in iOS or Android released today and for those keen on trying it out, the update is out now on App store and Play Store.

For iPhone users, you can enable dark mode, just go to Settings, then Display and Brightness and select Dark. Another best thing for you guys, a toggle to enable Automatic mode which will change to dark mode at night and go back to light mode during the day. Great, right?

For all other Android users, you can enable dark mode, just go to Settings, then Display, then Advanced and then select Dark from the Device theme menu.

Dark mode for the app here gives you a mostly pure black interface with white accents for the various buttons and logos. It also spread over to the different pages of the app, like Direct Messages, and IGTV.

Updated, 2nd November, 2019: Here’s How to Enable Dark Mode?

  • To enable system-wide Instagram dark mode iOS 13 (and thus in Instagram): Go to your Settings app, tap Display & Brightness, and tap the Dark button.
  • To enable system-wide Instagram dark mode Android 10 (and thus in Instagram, too): Go to your Settings app, tap Display, and tap the Dark them button.

For that to said, we believe it’s always better to have more visual options, and we can’t complain too much about an Instagram experience that is, in our opinion, much improved.
