If you want a smartwatch that is capable of tracking all sorts of everyday activities, Garmin should be your first choice. Their last couple of models performed outstandingly, and the newer models are even better.

Garmin released their latest Fenix 6 version last year, and it has been a blast. However, they’ve introduced a couple of versions of the Fenix 6, such as the 6s and the 6x.

In this comparison test, we will put Garmin Fenix 6 vs 6s vs 6x and determine the difference between each model.

More About Garmin

Garmin is a company that specializes in GPS technology. However, they decided to enter the wearable industry by manufacturing rugged, outdoor-oriented smartwatches.

Since their technology is widely used in the automotive industry and aviation, we are talking about a serious company that stands behind their products.

Ever since they’ve started manufacturing smartwatches, the wearable industry has never been the same. Their devices are packed with features designed to help you live a healthier life by tracking everyday data.

Garmin watches are even used in professional sports from some of the best teams in the NBA to analyze athlete’s data and performance (click here to know more about who are the recommended NBA daily picks).

Even the most popular companies in the wearable industry are trying hard to keep up with Garmin and their technology packed smartwatches.

Garmin Fenix 6s

The Fenix 6s is the smallest and least expensive option from the bunch. Even though this watch is unisex, it is the most preferred choice by women due to its smaller bezel size of 42mm.

In terms of design, it is quite beautiful. It comes in different color options, but the most popular option is the gold bezel with a white silicone strap.

The Fenix 6s is also thinner and lighter than the other two options, with dimensions of 42mm x 42mm x 13.8 mm and a weight of 67 grams. The bezel only comes in DLC or stainless steel, and its built quality is exceptional.

In order to navigate the menu, you can use the five physical buttons on the smartwatch’s sides.

The Fenix 6s has a 1.2-inch display with 240 x 240 px resolution. Just like most  Garmin watches, the Fenix 6s has an always-on display, and there are two options for display protection. You can either go with standard Gorilla protected glass or Sapphire.

Don’t let the size fool you; the Fenix 6s is still a very powerful watch packed with features like Bluetooth, GPS, and many more tracking options.

The Fenix 6s comes with a Li-ion battery of 180mAh, which is enough to provide the watch with nine days worth of battery in smartwatch mode, 6 hours of battery with GPS and Music, and 25 hours of battery only with GPS.

Pros

  • Small size and lightweight
  • Increased battery life
  • Impressive GPS accuracy
  • Contactless payments
  • Many features

Cons

  • Not included any maps.

Garmin Fenix 6

Even though the Fenix 6 is the standard model, it comes in the middle of the pack compared to the 6s and 6x in terms of size. The Fenix 6 comes with a size of 47 mm and a 1.3-inch non-touchscreen display with a resolution of 260 x 260px.

The Fenix 6 is designed as a sports watch since it has tons of tracking features to offer as well as GPS, NFC, and many more tracking options.

This watch is quite bulky and takes a bit of getting used to on your hand. With dimensions of 47mm x 47mm x 14.7mm and 83 grams, it is considered a big smartwatch compared to its other watches in the same category.

The Fenix 6 has the same iconic circular shape, and it is made from fiber-reinforced polymer, making it extremely durable. The smartwatch has exceptional quality, and it feels like a premium watch on your hand.

It comes with a silicone strap, but if you want to upgrade to the Pro version, you can get different strap options: leather, silicone, titanium, or nylon. There are also various options for the display. You can either choose a Fenix 6 with a Gorilla Glass DX or a Sapphire unscratchable glass for an additional cost.

In terms of controls, it comes with five physical buttons that sometimes can be confusing to operate.

Fenix 6 has impressive battery life. With its Li-ion 270mAh battery, it can last up to 14 days in smartwatch mode, 10 hours with GPS and music, and 36 hours if you use GPS only.

Garmin Fenix 6x

The Fenix 6x is the leader of the bunch with its performance. It is also the biggest smartwatch of the three, with dimensions of 51 x 51 x 14.9 mm and a weight of 96 grams.

This is quite a bulky watch that is designed for people with bigger wrists. Due to its large size, the Fenix 6x might feel uncomfortable if you wear it for a long time.

The built quality is just the same as the other options, no other word than exceptional. It comes in stainless steel bezel and gorilla glass or Sapphire screen protection.

The Fenix 6x also has a 1.4-inch display with 280 x 280 px resolution. It also has five physical buttons and different strap options to choose from.

Final Words

When it comes to choosing between these smartwatches, it all comes down to personal preference. Obviously, the most expensive one has the most impressive features like battery life and sapphire glass, but it shouldn’t be your first choice if those things don’t matter to you.
