Video games have been around for quite some time now, accumulating a fan base in the hundreds of millions, if not more. And during all of this time, we have seen some pretty remarkable games that are now considered classics in the world of gaming.
Well, thanks to this new trend of remastering video games with modern graphics, bug fixes, and add-on content, we currently live in a world that we can revisit all of these titles again in 2021 and not have to worry about those prehistoric graphics.
Here is a list of some of the best games that deserve to be replayed in 2021.
NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered
Most remasters come out when the game developers think of fixing something in the game years later, maybe tweaking the storyline a bit or making the game much more optimized. However, this game had no such issue and was already quite a complete game. The Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remaster is just as barebones as remasters can be, but that is not a problem. In fact, it is because of this it feels so much more perfect with the better visuals and decorative objects around tracks with garages for showing off cars between events. The story is just the same old basic one with nothing new, which is why this is a remaster done right, giving the game a much-needed enhanced look.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is one of the most popular Need For Speed titles which brought a sense of reckless fast driving and excitement, and after the small changes, the game feels better than ever and is one of the best games out there.
The remastered version of Crysis is not for your ordinary PC gaming rig; the game needs a seriously beefy GPU to render the visuals, which can reach up to 8K, textures are improved with better art and water effects, the lighting and reflections have been redone, and ray tracing is enabled for the remastered version of Crysis keeping the story intact as the original one, The game has really high graphics standards and even has a “can it run Crysis” graphics preset which absolutely pushes the PC to its limits, Project lead Steffen Halbig said “there isn’t a GPU that can run Crysis with this quality preset at 4k 30fps” however his statement was before the RTX3090 came out.
The visual enhancements played their part in-game mechanics; for instance, long draw distance allows players to tactically assess how they want to handle combat encounters ahead of time. This game must be revisited and experienced with the high quality of graphics there are to offer in this remastered version.
Dark Souls Remastered
Dark Souls has been rated as the top RPG in the past decade, and it changed the way games were experienced; the game was more like a religion that created fight clubs and rage amongst the gamers. The remastered version of the game has better content, graphics and s more optimized in terms of framerate. However, the storyline remains the same, but you get a fresh experience with the remastered version, and the fans were delighted to play it.
The game is brutal and kills with cold blood, and just one wrong move can cost you your life which is the unique selling point of the game. This is the kind of game that keeps you challenged, and you wouldn’t notice how the day has passed playing it. The remaster gives a better experience with add-ons and detailed progression.
Resident Evil 2 remastered
This is the remake of the game from 1998 with the same name. Players control rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they attempt to escape Raccoon city amidst a Zombie outbreak. The remake features a third-person shooter gameplay experience. The remake has been well received, with 3 million copies sold worldwide within the first week of sales. Surely this is a game on our must-play list, giving us a better experience of the 1998 version of the game.
